Tell The Story
In the Spring of 2006 I was driving down FM 518 when I got the phone call I had been waiting for! The call that was supposed to launch me into my chosen career as a drill team director, was actually a call from the high school principal letting me know that I DID NOT get the job. After making it to the final round of interviews there was someone “more qualified,” “more connected,” “more experienced” they were choosing to go with instead. I had left my first job out of college thinking that THIS was it; the next chapter in my story. After all signs pointed to me “having it in the bag,” my career course, or lack thereof, disappeared in an instant.
Proverbs 16:9 says that, “A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” My 22 year old self had selected a course (Director of a prestigious high school drill team) but the Lord had determined a different path for me to walk…a different story of HIS to tell.
For 16 years, Chara Christian Dance Academy has been telling the story of God’s goodness, power, and grace through our worshipful recital experiences. This week at our 14 dance recitals, we have the honor of hearing the personal gospel experiences of our sweet students. Through movement and story they will share how God has shown up in real and tangible ways; shaping their pathway at a young age, as a part of God’s never ending story of redemption, just as He did my own in 2006.
Our staff and students pray that our performances this weekend are a faith building reminder to you of how God has chosen to author your own story! May our dancing shine a light on your own path and how Jesus has been with you in every step of the way so you too, can encourage others by Telling the Story.
Have an amazing Recital Week!!
Sincerely,
