Darby’s Dancers
Darby’s Dancers is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the joy of the performing arts to children and adults with special needs. These dancers gain coordination, confidence, strength and life long friends, all while feeling like a star. Each dancer is paired with a “Buddy” for the year that assists them throughout the class. Dancers are able to take classes at no cost due to the group’s fundraising efforts that help provide costuming and cover recital expenses.
Chara’s Darby’s Dancers program is currently full for the 2024/2025 Season.
DanceABILITIES
DanceABILITIES is a class for students ages 10 & up with special needs who are ready for more independence in the classroom. They must have completed a year of Darby’s Dancers and/or be recommended by the teacher to join this class. Students will learn Hip Hop/ Jazz dance skills, while building overall body strength and coordination.

Sponsor a Dancer
You can sponsor a Darby’s Dancers by providing a one time financial donation through the link below. Your generous gift will cover the additional fees affiliated with their dance season including dance attire, shoes, recital costume, participation fees, etc.
Become a Darby’s Dancer Buddy
Buddies are recruited each year to assist a Darby’s Dancer (one-on-one) throughout the season. Buddies will attend all regularly scheduled classes, join them on stage at recital, and help provide direction and a great experience for their dancer. Apply to be a Darby’s Dancer Buddy through the link below.
Participate in Fundraisers
Each season, Chara Christian Dance Academy hosts a Bake Sale Fundraiser to help cover any fees associated with their dancing. You can donate baked goods to the sale or purchase items from the Bake sale in support of our dancers. 100% of all Proceeds benefit our Darby’s Dancers.
